About the council

The US-Turkmenistan Business Council is a Washington, DC based non-profit organization that promotes commercial relations between the United States and Turkmenistan. The mission of the Council is to enhance US-Turkmenistan trade and investment, advance the US-Turkmenistan bilateral relationship, and educate the public about its importance

To achieve its mission, the Council will sponsor policy conferences, briefing sessions and major events featuring senior U.S. and Turkmen officials, academics and business leaders.

USTBC holds its 3rd Annual Policy Roundtable to update the Strategic Roadmap and to identify new avenues for increased commercial cooperation between the U.S. and Turkmenistan. Participants included Assistant Secretary of State Robert Blake, Turkmenistan Ambassador to the U.S. Meret Orazov, representatives of the US Trade Representative, National Security Council, and Department of Commerce, and members of the USTBC.

USTBC holds 2nd Annual Policy Roundtable which resulted in the creation of a Strategic Roadmap between the US and Turkmenistan.  The participants included US State Department Assistant Secretary Robert Blake, Assistant USTR Michael Delaney, NSC Director for Central Asia Lynne Tracy, Turkmenistan Ambassador to the US Meret Orazov, members of the US Turkmenistan Business Council and officials from the Departments of Commerce and Energy. 

Turkmenistan Deputy Prime Minister Rashid Meredov and US Commerce Deputy Assistant Secretary Juan Verde cut the ribbon to open the first-ever US Turkmenistan exhibition with more than 60 American companies presenting in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
